What we do (and don't) collect
The Bower can arrange to collect your unwanted goods for
free! (Though many customers do feel happy to make a $5
donation, which certainly helps immensely with the cost of
running our truck)
However, as we are small and have limited space there are
some things we can't take. Also, because we only have one
truck, we can only pick up in a limited area, on three days a
week. Contact the Bower for more information. People are
more than welcome to donate by calling first, then bringing
in their re-usable goods during retail opening hours. Please
bear in mind, that while we can take goods at the door, it
does remain at our discretion.
Due to insurance restrictions our workers are not allowed to
carry large objects up or down stairs. We simply don't move goods on staircases at all.
Until the day when we might establish a larger repair centre, we cannot take non-working
appliances such as fridges, washing machines, etc. However we do offer a new Referral Service that
might be able to find an alternative home for your goods.
Either way, call us: 9568 6280
We Can Collect:
Bed bases
Bicycles and bike parts
Bookcases
Bric-A-Brac (vases, trophies, sewing goods, tea spoons, candelabra, etc)
Chairs
Desks
Dressers
Electrical Appliances (in clean and very good working order)
Fridges (that are working, with good seals, and plugged in and running, when we come to collect
them)
Hardware (vices, workbenches, handles, knobs, screws, bolts, etc.)
Paints (tins and tubes of usable paint, not dried old remnants)
Rugs and Hall Runners (in reasonable condition only)

Tools (especially hand style workshop and gardening tools)
Sporting goods ( mostly bat & ball stuff, but also surfboards, roller skates, fishing tackle, etc.)
Wardrobes and Cupboards
Household Building materials (doors, windows, sinks, toilets, basins, roofing iron, timber, etc)
and most other reusable household items, in good clean working order

Some electrical appliances

Kid’s Cots, Prams & Bassinetts, Etc (too many safety issues)
Mattresses (for health reasons)
Microwaves (we don't have out testing device anymore)
Roof Tiles & Standard House Bricks (slow moving space hogs)
Sofas (only when they’re in good nick, and we have room for them — rare!)
Stoves (Gas OR electric, we can’t test either)
Single Lounge Chairs (Like armchairs, we can’t find customers for them)
Washing Machines (we can’t test them)
Watercooler Air Conditioners
Windows (will be OK again, when we can make the storage area safer, and more accessible)
