Greetings Bower Members & Friends,

You may have heard that the Eco-Library has been taking some time now to start however the beginning

is nigh! At least for the construction. If you come into the store some time you'll find the structure in

disorganised chaos as a couple of our good ol' buddies will be throwing up the new mezzanine. We're

hoping it's completion will only be a couple of weeks from the start then we'll have the platform on

which to work the mind magic.

But of course a library without a librarian is like a magician without their wand, so (you guessed it) -

we’re currently on the look out for an individual with these skills and the time  to volunteer for now. But

we wouldn't turn anyone away with the confidence to carryout the simple cataloguing of some books and

or one who might be interested in assisting us to set the library up. If we’ve managed to sway you please

reply to this email.

Along with modifications for the mezzanine came the concreting of the shop floor which has improved

indoor appearances enormously. Thank you to Mr John B. for the tireless volunteer hours he’s put into

The Bower.

The previously mentioned individual has also won the Member Reuse Challenge which ended on the first

week of June. The transformation of a simple plinth into a modern sculpture shelf was even more

astounding when it became clear the transformation took place in 24 hours. Congratulations JB! For his

Reuse and artistic talents John was awarded a  $50 gift voucher.

The Bower has also very recently had some reassuring news and that is we’ve been successful in the

acquisition of a $10,000 grant from The Environmental Trust. It’s excellent to hear that there is a well

recognised environmental body who appreciates the goals and achievements of our small grassroots

organisation. So Bower members, staff and Board would like to extend their appreciation for this honor.

Well that’s all for now folks! Please don’t forget to check out the New web-page for the unusual,

practical, impractical but awesome and dirt cheap items you can grab in-store - especially with our

ridiculously low priced member-only sale items.
