Maaike
General Manager
Maaike began her relationship with The Bower as a consignee selling resurrected furniture through The Bowerhaus. She has a background in management and strategic planning as well as design and marketing. She is enjoying working hard with an enthusiastic team towards a worthy cause, and the numerous challenges that come with life in an Not-For-Pofit - Not the least of which is writing about your professional self in the third person.

Richard
Staff & Member Coordinator
Often seen running around in the background at the Bower, Rich's qualifications are in the arts & business studies. He has strong beliefs in building a sustainable society & protecting Australia’s remaining forests - generally making the world a nicer place. Rich came to us with a strong history working & volunteering for many other community & environmental organisations as well as running a small renovation company. He loves his job and sees it as a chance to make a real difference in his community.

Sam
Customer Liaison Officer (RRS)
This role at The Bower covers many areas, splitting time between answering all your enquiries, manning the Library and accepting donations and deliveries. The RRS (Reuse Referral Service) ensures customers have ample reuse/recycling options if we are unable to accept donations for any reason. Sam also works on marketing the Co-Op and corresponding with Councils, media and other organisations to ensure the community is informed about events and services.

Greg
Bower Ranger (Collections & Deliveries)
With over 10 years of service to The Bower, Greg is our longest standing member of staff. Not only does he drive our truck, scouring council clean ups, delivering goodies and collecting donations, Greg is also our resident machine man. If it's mechanical, Greg knows what it is and how to fix it. He's also a regular contributor of workbenches to our consignment section.

Claire
Librarian
Claire was and is the driving force behind our Eco-library - for both it's installation and catalogue maintenance. Claire has a long history with The Bower and has served on The Bower Board. She's our resident green thumb, is involved with the community garden here in the ARC and the innerwest Seedsavers group - to whom the Eco-Library is home. She also bakes a mean banana cake!

Teddy
Sales & Floor
Teddy's positive, can do attitude and team spirit have benefited many other well-known companies such as Nudie Juice, Scrambled Cafe and our neighbor Greening Australia. He now mans the shopfloor, quickly becoming an expert in timbers and wood finishes. More often than not he is the face behind our facebook presence, and the champion of our consignment space - The Bowerhaus.

Thuy
Sales & Floor
Thuy comes from a background in creative reuse and repair. She's full of ideas and has plenty of enthusiasm to make them happen. From merchandising to craft ideas, Thuy is all over it. Recently setting up a string of free talks and Q&A on issues of sustainability and living local which are held in the Eco-Library.

Neil has been our resident weekender for over 2 years. He has a long history in reuse and preloved goods. As an avid cycler his specialty is our bike and parts section.

Glen
Electrical Technician
With a life time of testing and repairing electronics, Glen has a personal passion for classic and vintage electronics. Self educated in the nearly obsolete world of valve technology, he has experience servicing the music industry. Glen has become one of the leading technicians in this part of the world for Vox musical amplifiers, and he is happy to answer any enquires and give tips and tricks. Did we mention he's in a band!?

Fiona
Sales & Floor
Fiona joined The Bower family through her involvement with our TAFEOutreach NSW/PLACE partnered course in Furniture Reuse & Repair. Now an eager volunteer co-ordinator for Curb Collective, a social enterprise formed by graduates of that class, Fiona is a great addition to our team.
As a artist who uses reused, found objects and recycling as her core medium in sculptural forms, Fiona brings a creative energy and years of community involvement to The Bower.
